Stepping Out - NODA AWARD WINNER 2019
A hit comic play about eight aspiring tap dancers (of varying standards) who meet weekly for lessons in a church hall
As time goes by we learn more about them and their relationships as they develop understanding, and cohesion alongside their tap dancing skills.
Comedies of Class
The Bear
While this play concerns a young widow and a man chasing a debt there’s no sign of tragedy and long dramatic pauses in this “farce-vaudevilles” by master of realism Anton Chekhov, who also refered to it as A Joke in One Act.
Fumed Oak
Best known for his sparkling comedies of high society (such as Blithe Spirit) Noel Coward was a staple writer and actor in English theatres and film from stage in 1920s until the 1960s (when he played crime boss Mr Bridger in “The Italian Job” with Michael Caine)
Top of the Tops '70'
A Real Success
With a theme is based around the classic Top of the Pops performances of the early 70’s there were some upbeat Glam Rock numbers as well as some teen idols and the odd ballad- all introduced by a pair of DJs and accompanied by a Chicken Chasseur meal.
Bridge to Farce - NODA AWARD WINNER 2018
'Bridge to Farce' was revived again for two nights at The Capitol Theatre in Horsham by Simply Cuckoo Productions in August 2018 with most CDS members reprising their roles. With a bigger stage, larger audience and a much improved set, the production received a fantastic response.
